ToolBook II Instructor v8 Features

Authoring with the Catalog
The Catalog is designed for ease of use. The intuitive browsing environment and drag-and-drop capabilities make it easy to build the pages of your book. You can add objects to the Catalog or remove them.
New to the Catalog in ToolBook II Instructor 8:

The Catalog is now dock-able anywhere on your ToolBook II application.
The Catalog in faster and easier to use due to the new design.


Actions Editor
The Actions Editor is a visual programming tool in ToolBook II Instructor. It features familiar interface elements-such as menus and a toolbar- that you can use to add sophisticated interactive behavior to objects in your Instructor applications.
Action Editor functionality added to ToolBook II Instructor 8:

"Actions Palette" - allows you to drag and drop actions into your action sequence.
"In-place Editing" - allows you to modify common properties of actions without going into the action properties dialog.
Keyboard support - allows you to respond to keyDown, keyUp and keyChar events, so you can respond to user keyboard input.
New actions - "Set URL Parameter" and "HTTP Post".
"Set URL Parameter allows you to set name/values pairs that will be passed with the HTTP post.
An HTTP Post passes the information to a particular URL and stores the returned value in a variable. This allows communication between your ToolBook II application and other items on your Web-site.


Distribute an application in a variety of formats
Instructor users can deliver courses over the Internet, an intranet, or on CD-ROM. Students can view your courses in a Web browser that displays the DHTML (Dynamic HTML) file format. Alternatively, students can use the ToolBook II Neuron browser plug-in to view courses in a native ToolBook II Book (TBK file) in a Web browser.
DHTML improvements for ToolBook II Instructor 8:

Allows you to export a range of pages or recently changed pages.
Overall performance increase for the export process.


Learning Management System (LMS)
A Learning Management System is a platform that allows you to launch, track, and analyze e-Learning.
ToolBook II Instructor 8 now offers a learning management system via the e-Learning Network Connection
